It's a much nicer engine than the 2.7 V6 derv unit. Doesn't suffer sudden crankshaft failure, and doesn't need timing belts to be replaced. The only thing I don't like about Ford based engines, is the reliance on powdered metal con rods, which can stretch at the big end, if lots of high RPMs are used.

I wouldn't reccomend replacing it yourself as you need to bleed the brakes when you replace it (unless you are mechanically able). I like car.

IF THE FUSES ARE OK THEN THE PROBLEM IS PROBABLY THE LOCK ACTUATOR. THE ONLY WAY TO ACCESS THE LOCK IS THROUGH THE INTERIOR OF THE TAILGATE.
