Everything was relatively well until the iDrive screen decided to intermittently stop working properly. Basically, the screen goes blank every now and them but not completely black. I have a 2009 X5 with only 60 000km. It started running on 4 cylinders and wont come back up to 8 again. I took it to a reputable BMW accredited workshop. After testing they found low compression on two cylinders (7&8) and claim this is the cause. Engineering shop stripped the head and found valves slightly burnt. l6XZ.
